Tim Lincecum not on the Market (?)

San Francisco Giants GM Brian Sabean returned from Orlando and denied reports that he is shopping right-hander Tim Lincecum.

“The only way it’s come up is if teams ask about him, and that’s where it ends,” Sabean said. “I’m not in a position to think there’s a trade out there where we could trade Lincecum. But when you finish 20 games under .500 in last place, you have to listen.”

The Giants would be crazy to give up Tim Lincecum. This guy had an average 2007 season (going 7-5 with 4.00 ERA in 146.1 IP), but his strikeout numbers (150) and opposing batting average (0.226) were solid. I had him on my fantasy team(s) this year, and he certainly helped out my pitching stats. The Giants would need to receive a big package in return for Lincecum, who would certainly be the future of any organization.
